In an experiment to study the reactivity of a metal with oxygen, we need to use potassium permanganate to provide oxygen. But before that, we should heat the metals then followed by heating the potassium permanganate. Why?

The dehydration of sucrose by sulphuric acid.

My mom and dad suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol. It run on both sides of the family, that along with diabetes and heart disease. My mom started taking blood pressure medication young,in her later 20's. My dad suffered from a stroke due to high blood pressure. I am 22yrs old and do not want to suffer this especially while young. Are there any ways I can be proactive about not suffering from those conditions now and later on in life being that it is hereditary? Or do I not have a chance in preventing it?

Friend of mine was put in hospital was saying she had been having palpations and shortness of breath. Also says her muscles in her arms in legs are tight and having muscle cramps like she has just worked out. In the hospital she was told her heart was fine but her potassium was low. My friend is still not feeling better says she is still light headed and feels like she can't breath. What other things can low potassium do to a person that perhaps needs to be looked at concerning health issues.

what does a person with diabetes do that works out & exercises each day do for dehydration? If I drink alot of water my sodium level drops. I keep a low magnesium , chloride , potassium & sodium level & none of the doctors here will tell me what is causing it & how to prevent it.

We all know that Potassium makes you thirsty and we think the water cooler in the office is supplied with water that is high in Potassium and making us drink more!

…I am a professional speaker on the topic? I advocate the use of these lifestyles, therapies, and products for health, wellness, and slowing the aging process. I definitely practice what I preach. I use/do everything I recommend in my speeches. I am in my mid-50s and look (and act) much younger.

I know that I am a walking promotion for my speaking business and that my appearance and behavior validates my expertise/opinions in the audience's eyes. Therefore, I have to believe that my personal use of vitamins, supplements, and other alternative therapies should fall under the category of a business expense and be tax deductible. I am told by colleagues that this is "probably" true, but no one can give me any hard data to back up that claim.

If you agree (or disagree), can you give me the references I would need and could use if the tax deductions are ever challenged by the IRS.

Thank you for you help.

Do you know about acesulfame potassium in association with Splenda?
I need to lose weight and I have switched to Diet Coke with Splenda (I cannot tolerate aspartame - that's the ingredient in regular Diet Coke).

Anyway, there is also one ingredient besides Splenda that is called acesulfame potassium. Does anybody know whether it is bad for your health or any chemical information about it?
Links would be appreciated.

Is taking a magnesium supplement safe?

I read that it helps with migraines, so I’ve begun taking 250 mg a day…it does seem to help thus far, but it’s been making me a little sleepy I think…could just be because of my already messed up sleeping schedule, but I just fell asleep around 8 PM randomly and didn’t wake up til I got a phone call around 10 pm.
