I take potassium suplements and drink almost 100 oz of water a day but get toe and shin cramps(charlie horses) so bad at night that the only relief i can get is a hot tub of water. I did have gastric bypass surgr in 2002 and never had this problem prior to that. Any ideas why and what I can do about it?

Does anyone know if having potassium levels that are too high can cause any psychological problems such as stress, depression, etc.? What are the other symptoms it could cause?

My doctor called and told me that after running some routine blood tests found that my potassium was low. She prescribed me a potassium supplement to take for three days and get my blood work retested in a week. I just got my blood test done yesterday (so it has been a week since I stopped taking potassium) and I feel terrible. My legs feel like they are cramping and I'm having trouble walking from it. And I feel really dizzy. Are these side effects of stopping the potassium? I'm planning to call the doctor…but they aren't open yet this morning and wanted some opinions.
Thank you so much for your help!!!

I just took a test online and I don't use salt at all, but my sodium level turned out to be 500mg too high..
Is it oily fish or I eat lentils/chick peas etc daily, is that too much?

Weird question i know but I heard that low potassium is the cause of leg cramps so I have a leg cramp and have no bananas. What other types of food that have potassium in it?
Thank you!
