should be ionic potassium (K+). When you eat food the cells of the food go through digestion releasing the potassium ions. Since potassium is factually an alkaline-forming mineral (so is sodium, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. with valences of three or less) and since the environment of the body is water - where K+OH- dissolves instantly into K+ and OH-, how does potassium increase body pH? It doesn’t seem like potassim stays attached to OH- long enough to bring OH from the water of digestion into the blood stream.
I am 17 and i would like to gain weight. I am 6′9" and i weigh about 155 pounds. Its has been really hard for me to gain some good healthy weight instead of eating junk foods and gaining weight by eating junk foods. So can someone please tell me how i can some good healthy weight.
Doctor ran blood test, potassium fine, sed rate fine, kidney and liver fine. I drink 4 bottles of water everyday so no possibility of dehydration. They especially hurt if i’m in the car with the heat on. They cramp sooo hard. Other days they cramp even when they’re not hot, mostly in the calves.

I literally went insane, and haven’t eaten anything for 3 days straight, and haven’t drank anything either, so today I went insane, so they took me right the ER, because I was fidgeting and really skinny they thought I was dying, they did a blood test, and when they came back, they were shocked themselves as they told me there was nothing wrong with me, all of my essential nutrients and minerals are still there, they even said my potassium went up, I mainly went insane because of depression, anxiety and lonliness, and boy am I telling you this right now, anybody can go insane, even if your normal, over a period of time, that subject that disturbs your life will take what’s left of you….away….for me, it was extended lonliness because I have never felt love, nor have I dated a girl since last year, at first it was okay, until it took away what was left of me sanely, I am ok now, I got help and I have a new therapist and eating well now, =]. But still with the whole nutrients thing, isn’t that a miracle?! I mean wow!
My potassium levels are low and my dr said to look online to find foods high in potassium. I did and I already eat a big majority of them. I honestly don’t know how else to get more potassium in my diet. Are there supplements?
I do know that bananas are a good potassium source but they really are probably my least favorite fruits. I found after researching that I regularly eat some of the foods that are even higher than bananas in potassium. So now what?
I had a miscarriage about a month ago & while at the doctor she expressed concern about my blood pressure. I went in today & my blood pressure what still high. She put me on some medicine, but I have to have my BP checked daily & call it in to the office. This makes me so nervous b/c heart disease runs in our family. I do not want to be on meds & want to get off of it quickly. Does anyone have any diet tips to help me get my BP down? Is cardio the best exercise for this?
My banana tree beared fruit, am I supposed to cut the tree down now? Or will it bear more fruit? Facts only please, don’t answer if you don’t know. Thanks.
Eating a healthy, balanced diet for your nutritional needs is not difficult, but it is trickier than you think.
Successful potassium diets are dependent on a number of other factors about your daily diet, state of health, medical need and well being.
Sodium, magnesium, maintaining a healthy diet, water intake, age, gender and current health condition are all critical factors.
