I understand that Reverse osmosis systems removes naturally occurring, healthy minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium…But can not you get all those minerals from the food or by taking a supplements with minerals and multivitamins?… At least reverse osmosis water is free from bacteria. Am I right?

How do I start eating healthy?

i’m 16 and i don’t eat a variety of foods. i’m sort of lazy so i tend to stick with pasta or cereal lol.

i’ve gained a lot of weight from eating junk and pasta– 5 pounds in the last month.

What interferes with Potassium absorbtion?

I have Hypokalemia and there is no reason I can see for it to be happening. I don’t eat poorly enough to have a Potassium deficiency, I don’t drink excessively, I don’t work out excessively, I don’t take diaretics. I assume I may be taking a supplement or something that is maybe blocking the absorbtion of Potassium. Any clue as to what vitamins/minerals/supplements may be doing it? (I am having irregular heartbeat/ palpitations as a result.) Several years ago I had a Hyperkalemia (too much Potassium) diagnosis as well. What is going on?
Not vomiting or having diarrhea either.

So my mom has this cough and she’s tried tons of medicines but don’t seem to work. She recently bought that Mucinex DM or whatever and that didnt help either. Any suggestions? Also, my mom has high blood pressure so if you suggest any medicines it has to be a medicine that high blood pressure people can take. Thanks.
I forgot to add, the medication is what starts my moms coughing.

I have a few friends who said they took a calcium-magnesium supplement IN addition to their prenatal. Did you? I see some bottles are solely calcium, some Calcium-Magnesium & others Calcium & Zinc. Which of the 3 would be best & why? THANK YOU!!!

any reasons for an accelerated heart rate?

On sunday morning 1030 am i was leaving my house and i started to feel strange. Myheart was racing/pounding very fast. I began to sweat a little. I felt as though I was going to faint.
I thought it was was from rushing around. (I am 33 weeks pregnant and I have a 10 month old son) I continued on my way thinking it would pass. My friend and I were driving about an hour away to visit another friend. I was driving and decided to pull over fearing I would pass out and crash. By the time I got to the hospital my heart had been pounding for an hour. My heart rate was 180 when they checked it. The baby was not in distress. I stayed over night in the hospital and all of the tests came back normal. My heart rate finally had settled after an IV was hooked up about 20 minutes later. The only thing they could say was possible dehydration and a slighly low level of potassium. I am just wondering if any one out there would be able to discuss it further based on thier own experiences.

Why is Potassium necessary for the diet?

I have been trying to cook for someone, but her appetite is low due to her age and a number of illnesses. She’s more inclined towards fried meats, but that causes detriment to her health. She’s an asian and prefers "asian food" in general, but is not above trying "western foods"

Is there a general guideline to work with?

I hear that creamy foods are generally out for aged people due to their palette right?
