Can I switch my Water Softener to Salt after 5 yrs with Potassium Chloride salt? Will there be damage? Thx?
Will the switch damage the Water Softener itself? It's only 5 yrs old.
What is bridging?
I currently have "deposits" at the bottom of the tank. Is it ok to add salt on top of it?
or do I have to remove it first? How?
Pls send email to pintongpula@yahoo.com. I'd appreciate your help.

Yes, you can switch.
No damage will occur.
The only salt you need to worry about is the crystal shaped salt.
Always use pellet salt.
Pellet salt will not 'bridge' in the brine tank.
Another hint—–don't put more than 3 bags of salt in the tank to assure no bridging will occur.
