Absolutely not !
The well-known table salt replacement "Lo-Salt" contains 66% potassium chloride, with the rest being sodium chloride. That would seem to indicate that potassium chloride does you no harm, but whether 100% replacement would be possible is a question for someone with better knowledge than me!
Some salt - Sodium chloride - alternatives are Potassium chloride so it’s OK in small quantities for flavour but I woud be concerned if ALL Sodium chloride was replaced. Blood needs Sodium chloride and it is a component of perspiration so its loss is not good. Injecting Potassium chloride into the blood causes death. Lithium chloride is not suitable for consumption at all
RoyS.
yes, i think so
some crisps contain potassium chloride, not sodium chloride
if you read the ingredients you can look for yourself
i’m not sure about replacing normal salt with other stuff, though. I wouldn’t recommend it
No. Lithium Chloride is not something I would eat anytime soon and is toxic. Potassium Chloride possibly, but, I wouldn’t have heaps of it and in very large doses is used for suicide as it stops the heart. Why on earth would you want to change?
No.
