Been taking off and on a Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc Vitamin Supplement to help with my food metabolism and for countering my SVT Tachycardia. I have taken taken this stuff somtimes with regular magnesium pill, plus at times a multi vitamin. Now before I begain taking this supplement, my heart would go up and down on accasion, and now it seems to be doing so a little more offten.

To my complete shock I found that the amount of Calcium per 3 caplets is 1000 mg and the Magesium is 400 mg.

Can taking too much Calcium and Magesium actually hurt someone with SVT Tachycardia?

I am currently taking Magnesium supplements to correct symptoms of Magnesium deficiency.

How many milligrams of magnesium is safe to take per day? I’ve heard anywhere from 400-1000mg per day, so as of now I’m assuming that you just shouldn’t take more than 1000mg?

I seem to be magnesium deficient, like most everyone in the western world. And I can really see a different in my anxiety with the Magnesium. But the problem is, I feel more relaxed, yes. BUT, my anxiety CAUSES stomachaches; one that’s indescribable and not gastrointestinal in nature. But the magnesium definitely just gives me a regular stomachache most of the time, and nausea like half of the time. And sometimes it gives me heartburn.

I know that Magnesium can make you have the sh*ts. It doesn’t really do this to me. It’s not in that vicinity. It definitely above my intestine.

Does anyone know how to reduce or get rid of this side-effect? I really need to take this Magnesium! It’s made so much difference…. But these stomach troubles are killer!

Btw: I’ve taken it with eating AND without eating. With lots of water, and with not as much water. It’s all the same.

I also take a lot of Tums to try to kill some of the problem but it doesn’t seem to do that much. It kills my heartburn mostly.

Is It Too Late For Me To Take a Calcium Supplement?

so I really want to start taking a calcium-magnesium supplement. But I am already 19 weeks along, is it too late to get much benefit from a cal-mag supplement?

I have some bizarre health symptoms that have been going on for years now, and some research I’ve done suggests magnesium *could* help:

-constant pressure in my head (some say it is "atypical migraine")
-severe constipation, spastic colon, other digestive issues
-visual problems (double vision, trouble moving eye muscles)
-eye twitching, involuntary muscle "jerks"

And other stuff.

I bought the Nature Made Magnesium supp, 250mg of Magnesium Oxide (that’s the only form of it), it says to take 1 daily.

Is there a better form of Magnesium to take.. and how long should it take for me to notice anything, assuming it will help in the first place?

It was recommended that I take a magnesium gluconate supplement for migraine but I accidentally bought magnesium oxide. What’s the difference?

tolerance to opiates is regulated by a number of substances including nmda inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, magnesium and zinc. studies have shown that intrathecal administration of magnesium and zinc can slow the development of opiate tolerance buildup. but is this ever used clinically? is there a regiment of drugs given to patients on opiates to keep their tolerance low? finally, would oral zinc and magnesium supplements have the same effect?

I have a few friends who said they took a calcium-magnesium supplement IN addition to their prenatal. Did you? I see some bottles are solely calcium, some Calcium-Magnesium & others Calcium & Zinc. Which of the 3 would be best & why? THANK YOU!!!
