I was ordered by my doc to increase my potassium intake, and to eat bananas. I don’t hate the taste of bananas, but I am certain I will soon enough if I don’t find interesting ways to eat them. Any tips? Good ideas for smoothies?

I read in a textbook that it’s possible to burn a banana and get the yellow flame that indicates potassium is present.
I thought it might make a good classroom presentation, but my banana doesn’t burn!

My great grandmother is 86 and was just told by her doctor she needs to lower her potassium intake. The problem is when she looks at the Nutrition facts on boxes or can goods, everything has potassium. She loves oranges, apples & bananas but they have too much potassium. She has to drink this dry powder every night to flush out her system. I’d like to help her out by finding some different foods that have little to no pottassium. I hope you can help. Thank You !!

I am concerned that too much bananas may increase my potassium level inappropriately.
