Dogs and Garlic - Raw Foods Diet?

Some of the Raw Food diets for dogs are conflicting.

B.A.R.F. Suggests:

Garlic is nature’s antibiotic and often called nature’s wonder drug. There is no doubt that garlic does confer some health advantages. Garlic has been found to have effective antimicrobial properties, inhibiting the growth of both bacteria and fungi. Garlic helps stabilize blood pressure and gives a good solid boost to the immune system, keeping at bay infections of various sorts particularly upper respiratory tract infections. Much of it’s success is due to various compounds of sulfur. Garlic is a health building and disease preventing herb. It is rich in potassium, zinc, vitamins A and C, and selenium. It also contains calcium, manganese, copper, vitamin B1 and some iron.

Where as Raw Meaty Bones says:

Things to avoid:
Onions, garlic and chocolate — toxic to pets.

So my question is: Has anyone had any problems giving their dog/pet garlic? All of my dogs have eaten garlic and never experienced any problems.

Electric Field Across a Cell Membrane?

so i did the first part of the question seen below and have gotten the right answer. but i need help with part 2 and three.

The fluid within a living cell is rich in potassium chloride, while the fluid outside it predominantly contains sodium chloride. The membrane of a resting cell is far more permeable to ions of potassium than sodium, and so there is a transport out of positive ions, leaving the cell interior negative. The result is a voltage of about -70.0mV across the membrane, called the resting potential. If the membrane is 7.10nm thick, and assuming the electric field E across it is constant, determine the magnitude of E.
=9.86*10^6 V/m

part 2: The membrane may be thought of as a capacitor: 2 charged surfaces filled with oil (dielectric constant=2.88). Find its capacitance per unit area.

and part 3)What is the resting membrane’s surface charge density?

thanks for any help u can give =D

Worst pain after eating Bananas?

I just linked this to bananas and it has only been happening for the past 6 months. I used to eat them ALL the time without issue. Sometimes 2 a day! Today I had 1.5 bananas (my daughter ate the other half mushed up) and some water because I woke up super later (4pm! my infant had a hard time sleeping last night). I am now in the worst pain ever. I have felt this before and I remember eating bananas around the same time! I do not have a gallbladder so it can not be that. This has only been a fairly recent development. I am always low on potassium, so I have to eat potassium rich foods. Last time they checked me I was at a 3.5 and was given potassium again by IV for heart palpitations. So bananas are essential to my diet. Please help, does anyone else suffer from terrible stomach cramps after eating bananas?
I have eaten them before on an empty stomach. It is usually my breakfast. A banana and some type of drink usually water, juice, or a sprite.

I’m changing my diet and am adding potassium rich food to it. I know apples and bananas are but what else? Thanks!

so confused!?

The doctor ran some tests on me the other day and the results made things really hard and confusing for me. I am hypoglycemic..and the doctor said my potassium levels are really really low..and I need to eat foods that will raise them. The only problem is alot of the foods that are rich in potassium mess with my sugar levels. I have two questions..one, what is the normal persons mg’s of potassium is needed? 2, are there any foods that will raise my potassium levels that wont really mess with my sugar? Any help will be really great right now thanks!
