I am making my own wicks to go into my tiki torches. However, I am trying the idea of colored flames. But I dont know where to purchase these materials. Some of the chemicals are
Pale green flame use BORAX;
Bright green flame use ALUM;
Red flame, use only BORIC ACID;
Purple flame use water softener salt (POTASSIUM CHLORIDE);
Blue flame use CALCIUM CHLORIDE or COPPER CHLORIDE.

If you added potassium Chloride or sodium chloride in place of water to wet an acid soil, would the soil solution become more or less acid? Why?

I have 2K + H20 = H2 + K2O,
and Na + O2 = NaO2?
Are these right (correct me if I’m wrong)? Also, is the reaction of sodium and oxygen a synthesis reaction (is that the proper name?)? Is the other one simply single replacement? Thanks.

There’s a site if you need to look at potassium nitrate’s solubility graph. Thank you!
