dangerous to take magnesium supplement?
i have been taking a 250 mg magnesium pill a day. i read that with my condition (pcos and insulin resistance), magnesium leaves the body through urine leaving a low magnesium level. ive always had a normal mag level when at the doctor. but i put myself on this mag supplement. is this dangerous for me to do?

You really do need to personally speak to a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath to resolve this issue buddy as they will be able to take into account the specifics of your current status of health……… the most assimilable form of magnesium to take ie ~ the easiest form for your body to use is an amino acid chelated magnesium supplement ….. a powdered supplement …….. any good health food store will be able to help you out with this ….. magnesium is known as the antistress mineral and will support healthy nerve and muscle functioning and heart health.
However, that being said, i do suggest that you eat more foods rich in magnesium.
foods rich in magnesium are ~ leafy and green vegies, fresh cold water fishes such as tuna, sardines, salmon and whiting, organic nuts and seeds such as almonds and brazil nuts (organic to avoid the nasty sulfites and chemicals they use to "preserve" the commercial varieties that may upset sensitive bodies) and wholegrain breads and cereals (if you can tolerate wheat that is).
If you have impaired kidney functioning, large amounts of magnesium supplementation over an extended period of time can be toxic …….. but the recommended daily intake of magnesium for adults is 250 - 500 mg daily ……… just pump up your intake of nuts, seeds and green vegies and fresh cold water fishes and you'll get ample magnesium supplies in your body hun ……. the fresh whole food form will always be the best way ?
Drink loads of fresh filtered water too as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one.
peace 2 u
cheers
