Panic—> high BP.
Referred to as flight-or-flight mechanism.
Add: the adrenaline comes from the panic.
A panic attack can elevate blood pressure & yes, stress does cause anxiety.
For me, prolonged stress has caused my blood pressure to remain elevated. My blood pressure didn’t have a chance to fall back down in the normal range. I believe different scenarios happen to different people. In the past getting my blood pressure checked would make me have a flashback of some abuse. This would cause my blood pressure to be elevated when I had it checked. Now I have a good relationship with my doctor and I trust her so this no longer happens. That is my story. Everybody has their own story. Take Care.
