Health: Potassium levels?
Hi ! I recently had high level pottasium (because of a supplement I was taking) I just wanted to know, Does salt increase potassium ? I’m confused about High pottasium = low blood preasure & High blood preasure because of too much salt. Should I avoid foods with salt & pottasium from now on ?

An excess of sodium will raise blood pressure. Potassium is one of the best vitamins to take to help lower blood pressure. Don’t each to much salt a day. Potassium if good for you, unless you just take too much. It won’t drop your blood pressure to an unsafe level. If you’re uncomfortable about it, take a different supplement. Bananas are a great source of potassium.
too much salt causes high BP because salt draws water from the cells to the blood stream thus there is increase in BP.
potassium lowers blood pressure because of this sodium-potassium pump that’s working in our body. increase in potassium causes the sodium/salt in the blood stream to shift towards the cells thus BP is reduced.
