I just bought a 500mg Magnesium Supplement is it too much?
I was reading up online why I have been feeling so crappy and I was told not only by reading online but a woman that is a natropath at my gym that I should take a Magnesium supplement…I went to GNC and bought one and they gave me the 500mg one…it says to take it every day but 500mg every day..isnt that kind of excessive? I eat tons of veggies and fish once a week (salmon) is it ok if i take the Magnesium supplement 1x a week? or just not take it at all?

Firstly, if you have any kidney or heart problems, do not take a magnesium supplement without seeing an MD.
About 300-400 is recommended intake per day. 500 isn’t really that much more, but that is for dietary (food) intake.
A supplement should not be more than 350 per day. If you can find a 250mg supplement and increase your intake of certain foods, that would be better.
Excellent sources are nuts (especially cashews and almonds), spinach, and soybeans. Since you like fish, halibut is the best choice for Magnesium.
It would depend on a few factors: the source of the zinc (is it pharmaceutical grade, and/or organic), or is it synthetic? You’ll also need a lot of Calcium as well, to better absorb the Magnesium. In fact, the two are best paired together.
