Take a banana and tonic water. Best thing for cramps. Eat one before you go to bed and have one ready in the morning with tonic water (contains quinine)

Do you exercise at all? Stretching before and after is important as it relaxes your muscles.
Great tips here: http://www.health911.com/remedies/rem_cramp.htm

The trouble with medication is that it causes serious side effects. You could end up taking more medication to counteract the side effects and a downward spiral.

Quote:"Other treatments:

Other drugs have been suggested as possible treatments for leg cramps. These include: magnesium, diltiazem, vitamin B complex, vitamin E, naftidrofuryl, orphenadrine, and verapamil. In general, these are not currently recommended as most studies involving them found that they do not work very well in most people. Quinine remains the main treatment. However, your doctor may suggest a trial of one of these drugs if quinine has not worked or has caused troublesome side-effects."

Research the cause of your condition(the reason why you are taking medication) in the homeopathic remedies.

Good luck!

Banana's. If you have any eat one. Will do wonders for leg cramps so fast. They've got potassium in them, and will put a stop to the leg cramps.

Bananas are really high in potassium. Orange juice also. Potatoes and sweet green peppers are good sources also. Orange juice is probably the fastest acting.

Try taking some pain reliever, a warm soak in the tub with your glass of orange juice. When you get more supplements, buy two bottles. When you open the second bottle, get another. Especially since you have such an issue.

Eat a banana. Or some low-sodium salt (contains potassium instead of sodium)

I can only agree with the previous answers about bananas making a great source for potassium. The only addition I'll make is that the uptake of potassium is made easier by supplements of magnesium too.

To read more about vitamins and minerals, you can visit the site below.

Good luck,
