I’ve taken magnesium during pregnancy with great results. It alleviates muscle cramps and helps promotes restful sleep. I personally use Mama Calm. It’s a powder you add to an oz. of boiling water to dissolve and then add enough water to make it about a cup. It’s got a sort of tart sweet mild taste. You can purchase it at just about any health food store or online at http://www.vitacost.com/Peter-Gillham-Mama-Magnesium-Calm . I’ve used it for my last 3 pregnancies and wish I would have for the first four! Good luck with the arrival of your new addition!
Not sure why she feels the need to take them but magnesium is safe. Some people take them to keep stool soft and as long as you are taking them 400-800mg per day they should be fine. Magnesium is water soluble and will come out in the urine
