I have answered a lot of these question in yahoo answers. Anyway, I have had low potassium levels before and I have to take potassium supplements and modify my diet as well. I have just taken the supplements for 5 days but my levels were not back to normal. I made sure that I eat foods that are high in potassium.

The following are foods with potassium:

cantaloupe
Bananas
Oranges
Apricots
Avocado
Strawberries
Potatoes
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Chard
Bell pepper
Eggplant
Squash
Crimini mushrooms
Brussels sprouts
Turmeric
Parsley
Spinach
Broccoli
Tuna
Halibut

Aside from this, I also munch on raisins and peanuts in between meals. If your husband likes chocolate, he can have that too but not too much too.

His MD can prescribe KCL potassium chloride. You can also eat bananas or tomatoes, but you'll have to eat quite a few.

Bananas and Orange Juice. And, any green vegetable and many other fruits too. Potassium is part of the fertilizer used to grow them, therefore, they are all over these super foods.
