Here are some causes of Low Sodium levels: Low sodium levels (hyponatremia) can be caused by excessive sweating, burns, severe vomiting or diarrhea, drinking too much water (psychogenic polydipsia), or poor nutrition. Low sodium levels can also be caused by underactive adrenal glands or thyroid gland, heart failure, kidney disease, cirrhosis, cystic fibrosis, or SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion).
Kinda sounds like my what my grandma had. She had the SIADH going on.
Cancer
Certain medications cause a drop in sodium. His/her doc should check all the meds they are on to see which drugs can be causing this.
A disturbance in electrolytes can be caused by many illnesses: cancer, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, etc.
can also be too much fluid intake also if bp is high SIADH and a host of other things
