Would 5 bananas be too much potassium for an 18 month old child?
My son has just come back from his fathers and i’ve been told that in the last 2 hours he has had 5 bananas, would this be too much potassium for an 18 month old child to take in one go?

Your son will be fine. It is extremely rare for a healthy child or adult to have too much potassium from diet alone.
"Keep in mind that getting too much potassium (hyperkalemia), is just as dangerous as not having enough. However, it is unusual to get too much potassium just from your diet without also taking a potassium supplement of some kind or having some kind of kidney problem."

5 bananas is pretty bad for an adult let alone an 18 month old child.

I would think he would be fine as a one off. I would however question why the father thought it necessary to give your son 5 banana’s in such a short space of time.
Bananas bad for you? Not heard that either. But 5 possibly may make you sick if you are a baby. I ate 13 once and was extremely uncomfortable. I am 15 stone, so I would have thought your baby would feel ill too. I have heard this before. Its one of those things I have read…like Drinking Green tea on an empty stomach makes you sick and that kind of thing.
